Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FindMyChip collects and handles information when visitors search components, submit RFQs, communicate with our sourcing team, or use the admin tools that operate the platform.
1. Who We Are
FindMyChip is a B2B electronic component search and sourcing platform that connects engineers and procurement teams with China-based distributors, manufacturers, logistics providers, and related sourcing support. The legal operator is MELOOK International Trade Limited, established in 2023, with registered address at RM11, 13/F, BLK C, WONG KING IND. BLD., 192-198 CHOI HUNG RD, SAN PO KONG, KOWLOON, HONG KONG.
For privacy requests, contact us at rfq@findmychip.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories, based on the current FindMyChip website and admin application:
- RFQ and quote details: name, work email, WhatsApp or phone number, company name, usage, timeline, notes, requested MPNs, manufacturer names, quantities, target prices, quote numbers, customer IDs, and related messages.
- Attribution and request context: landing page, referrer, UTM source, UTM medium, UTM campaign, and the page or part that led to a request.
- Customer and order records: customer name, email, phone, WhatsApp, company, country, tags, notes, quote history, order history, revenue totals, shipping method, tracking number, shipping address, payment amount, payment method, payment reference, and internal status history.
- Communications: inbound and outbound email content, message subject, message IDs, attachments metadata, timestamps, and CRM activity records generated from web forms or email replies.
- Admin account data: FindMyChip admin users sign in with email and password. Public user registration is not enabled. Admin sessions can include IP address, user agent, session tokens, rate-limit records, and account provider metadata from self-hosted Better Auth.
- Site usage and analytics: search terms, search result counts, product views, cart and quote funnel events, section views, dwell milestones, CTA clicks, outbound link clicks, timezone, language, screen size, viewport, pixel ratio, connection type, color scheme, referrer host, and a truncated SHA-256 hash of an email address when a visitor enters an email in the quote flow.
- Published content records: author names, titles, bios, avatars, credentials, LinkedIn URLs, specialties, blog posts, and case study records managed in the admin content system.
We did not find a public OAuth sign-in flow, public account registration, KYC workflow, or merchant onboarding workflow in the current codebase.
3. How We Use Information
- To respond to RFQs, identify suitable suppliers, prepare quotes, manage orders, arrange shipping, and provide sourcing support.
- To maintain customer and CRM records, including quote status, order status, payment records, internal notes, and communication history.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the website, admin tools, APIs, cache invalidation, and search experience.
- To measure search demand, conversion funnels, page engagement, no-result searches, and outbound or contact actions through analytics tools.
- To prevent abuse, protect admin accounts, enforce rate limits, authenticate admins, and investigate security or operational issues.
- To meet legal, tax, accounting, export, customs, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations.
4. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
FindMyChip uses browser storage and cookies to run the service and measure performance. Examples include admin authentication cookies, quote cart data in localStorage, quote confirmation data in sessionStorage, first-visit attribution fields, UTM fields, a hashed analytics user ID, Google Analytics cookies, and Microsoft Clarity cookies or identifiers.
You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Disabling them may affect admin login, quote cart persistence, attribution, analytics, or other site functionality.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate the platform, fulfill sourcing requests, or comply with obligations. Current service and data-flow categories include:
- Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel, Vercel Data Cache, and the hosted PostgreSQL database provider documented for the project.
- Email and webhooks: Resend for outbound and inbound email, and Svix signature verification for Resend webhook authenticity.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for usage events, session analytics, and site improvement.
- Communications: WhatsApp/Meta if you choose to contact us through WhatsApp links.
- Fulfillment: distributors, manufacturers, testing labs, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers such as DHL, FedEx, and UPS when needed to source, verify, ship, or support an order.
- Payments: banks, wire-transfer providers, PayPal, credit card providers, or other B2B payment providers when a quoted transaction uses those methods.
- Search and indexing: search engines and IndexNow-compatible services may receive public page URLs for indexing, but not private RFQ content.
- Legal and safety: professional advisers, authorities, or counterparties where required for compliance, enforcement, fraud prevention, customs, tax, or dispute handling.
We do not sell customer RFQ content or order records. Where analytics cookies or identifiers are treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under local law, you may contact us to exercise applicable opt-out rights.
6. Data Retention
We keep RFQ, customer, communication, order, payment, and shipment records for as long as needed to provide services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, satisfy tax or customs obligations, and protect against fraud. Admin authentication and rate-limit data are retained as needed for account security and auditability. Analytics data may be retained in aggregated, pseudonymous, or provider-managed form according to the settings of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Browser storage remains until it expires, is overwritten, or is cleared by the user.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of personal information; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; opt out of certain analytics or targeted advertising uses; and complain to a data protection authority. These rights can arise under laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPL, and similar privacy laws.
To make a request, email rfq@findmychip.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain certain records where legally required or where needed for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, accounting, warranty handling, customs, or dispute resolution.
8. International Transfers
FindMyChip serves international B2B customers and sources components through global suppliers and China-based distribution channels. Information may be processed in the United States, China, Hong Kong, the European Economic Area, and other countries where our infrastructure, suppliers, logistics providers, payment providers, or support partners operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures such as HTTPS, admin-only authentication, session controls, rate limits, webhook signature verification, restricted admin access, cache invalidation controls, and database-backed audit records. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in RFQs or email.
10. Children
FindMyChip is a B2B sourcing service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
11. Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, vendors, or legal obligations change. The Last Updated date shows when this page was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page or communicated through reasonable channels.
