How does LMV221 output RF power?
LMV221 provides a DC voltage output (VOUT) that is proportional to the logarithm of the RF input power. The transfer function is approximately 35mV/dB with temperature compensation. An ADC can digitize this voltage for power measurement or control loops.
What is the dynamic range of LMV221?
LMV221 provides 35dB of usable dynamic range (±1dB accuracy). For example, at 900MHz the detection range covers approximately -27dBm to +8dBm. The range shifts slightly at different frequencies. See the datasheet for frequency-specific plots.
What input impedance does LMV221 have?
The RF input presents approximately 50Ω impedance. No external matching network is needed for 50Ω systems. For non-50Ω applications, add an external L-match or resistive pad. AC-couple the RF input with a 100pF capacitor.
